Happy 7th Birthday Jakie!
12/20/2007 Jake turned 7-years-old! Wow, has time flown by. When I first started dating Ronnie Jake was just one! We celebrated Jake's birthday at the Duscher's. We had spaghetti and birthday cake! Jake got a new bike this year from his parent's. He also got a skateboard from Grandma and Grandpa Youngquist and some money too! We got Jake his very own set of golf clubs. Uncle Ronnie is hoping to have a new golf partner this summer (Sorry, Ryan!) I think the most exciting part of the night was when Jake got to open an unexpected gift from his parents and brother, Matthew. He got the Nintendo Ds! I think he screamed several times when he opened it. Needless to say that once he got the game up and running the rest of us were history! I remember being his age and getting an Atari (yes, I know I am dating myself) and I couldn't concentrate on anything but my new game! Happy 7th Birthday Jake. We love you very much!
Welcome back Missy!
My cousin Missy is here again from Texas. She had so much fun a month ago that she decided to come back. She got here on December 13th and will be with us through the holiday's! We love having her here and we all wish she would stay! This year will be the first Christmas since she was 7-years-old that we get to be with her.(She now is 20-years-old) A very special time of year and it is so wonderful that she gets to be with all of us.
I love you Grammy!
"Quadroon's" Christmas party!
The "Quadroon" is a very special group of women! I was very fortunate to marry into this wonderful group of women. Ronnie's family and a few very close friends of the family meet each month for dinner and then at Christmas time we have a Christmas party. The oldest member of this group is 88-years-old and the youngest member is 32-years-old! It is so much fun and I love being included in all of the festivities. This year we went to Carol's house. We had appetizer's, cocktail's and did our annual gift exchange. My cousin is here from Texas so she got to come along and experience this awesome group of women. She told me that she had a great time and she wishes Ronnie had a cousin to marry! ;)
Our first scary moment!
Well we had our very first scare with our baby! This is the very last time you will see Wesley with THIS nuk! Today was an ordinary day. Wesley went to bed for a nap at 10:00. I heard him waking up from his nap and he was cooing and playing in his crib. I usually leave him in the crib for about 10 minutes so he can have time to wake up and play for a while since he loves his crib. I hadn't heard him coo for a bit so I was walking past his room and I heard him make this horrible gagging sound. I flew into his room and there my baby was lying on his back in his crib with the entire nuk shoved into his mouth! He had vomit in and around his mouth and was choking on the nuk! I grabbed the nuk out of his mouth and flew him forward! Thank the good lord above us that he was just fine. I was shaking so bad afterwards all I could do was cry! The biggest scare of my life had just happened and all I could do was cry because I was so relieved I heard him choking and was able to get the nuk out and save my baby! Thankfully Ronnie was home also so we just hugged Wesley and were able to calm down after about an hour! We did grab all of those nuks and they are now put away! Wesley does take a different, safer nuk now but I still wake up often during the middle of the night just to check on him! I also go into his room about 20 times during his nap time just to check on him! Ugh, what a scare but I am so happy he is okay!

8 Month's old!
Wesley had his flu shot this month. He was a very tough little boy during the shot. I think this was the first time that his parent's didn't get tears in their eyes when he got poked. This month Wesley is really growing up. He can almost crawl now. He is using his arms more so he can scoot around to things that he wants but he doesn't go very far. I am thinking by next month he will be crawling. We are very excited as this year is going to be his very first Christmas. Santa finally gets to stop at our house!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
