Happy 7th Birthday Jakie!
12/20/2007 Jake turned 7-years-old! Wow, has time flown by. When I first started dating Ronnie Jake was just one! We celebrated Jake's birthday at the Duscher's. We had spaghetti and birthday cake! Jake got a new bike this year from his parent's. He also got a skateboard from Grandma and Grandpa Youngquist and some money too! We got Jake his very own set of golf clubs. Uncle Ronnie is hoping to have a new golf partner this summer (Sorry, Ryan!) I think the most exciting part of the night was when Jake got to open an unexpected gift from his parents and brother, Matthew. He got the Nintendo Ds! I think he screamed several times when he opened it. Needless to say that once he got the game up and running the rest of us were history! I remember being his age and getting an Atari (yes, I know I am dating myself) and I couldn't concentrate on anything but my new game! Happy 7th Birthday Jake. We love you very much!
Welcome back Missy!
My cousin Missy is here again from Texas. She had so much fun a month ago that she decided to come back. She got here on December 13th and will be with us through the holiday's! We love having her here and we all wish she would stay! This year will be the first Christmas since she was 7-years-old that we get to be with her.(She now is 20-years-old) A very special time of year and it is so wonderful that she gets to be with all of us.
I love you Grammy!
"Quadroon's" Christmas party!
The "Quadroon" is a very special group of women! I was very fortunate to marry into this wonderful group of women. Ronnie's family and a few very close friends of the family meet each month for dinner and then at Christmas time we have a Christmas party. The oldest member of this group is 88-years-old and the youngest member is 32-years-old! It is so much fun and I love being included in all of the festivities. This year we went to Carol's house. We had appetizer's, cocktail's and did our annual gift exchange. My cousin is here from Texas so she got to come along and experience this awesome group of women. She told me that she had a great time and she wishes Ronnie had a cousin to marry! ;)
Our first scary moment!
Well we had our very first scare with our baby! This is the very last time you will see Wesley with THIS nuk! Today was an ordinary day. Wesley went to bed for a nap at 10:00. I heard him waking up from his nap and he was cooing and playing in his crib. I usually leave him in the crib for about 10 minutes so he can have time to wake up and play for a while since he loves his crib. I hadn't heard him coo for a bit so I was walking past his room and I heard him make this horrible gagging sound. I flew into his room and there my baby was lying on his back in his crib with the entire nuk shoved into his mouth! He had vomit in and around his mouth and was choking on the nuk! I grabbed the nuk out of his mouth and flew him forward! Thank the good lord above us that he was just fine. I was shaking so bad afterwards all I could do was cry! The biggest scare of my life had just happened and all I could do was cry because I was so relieved I heard him choking and was able to get the nuk out and save my baby! Thankfully Ronnie was home also so we just hugged Wesley and were able to calm down after about an hour! We did grab all of those nuks and they are now put away! Wesley does take a different, safer nuk now but I still wake up often during the middle of the night just to check on him! I also go into his room about 20 times during his nap time just to check on him! Ugh, what a scare but I am so happy he is okay!

8 Month's old!
Wesley had his flu shot this month. He was a very tough little boy during the shot. I think this was the first time that his parent's didn't get tears in their eyes when he got poked. This month Wesley is really growing up. He can almost crawl now. He is using his arms more so he can scoot around to things that he wants but he doesn't go very far. I am thinking by next month he will be crawling. We are very excited as this year is going to be his very first Christmas. Santa finally gets to stop at our house!

Ah, Daddy!
Tub time

Wesley loves his tub time. He goes crazy with his hands and splashes all over the place. It is so cute to see him get so excited once you turn on the water to the tub! He has a little motor boat that he loves to grab at while it is cruising around in the tub. Look at how much hair my baby has! I can twirl it all into a cute curly-Q.
Baby's 1st Thanksgiving!

Ronnie and I hosted Thanksgiving this year. We had my parent's over, My sister and her family,Grandma Klersy, Grandpa and Grandma Barthel. We were brave and made our very first turkey this year. We were a bit nervous but it turned out wonderfully. Since I was so busy worrying about everything being perfect I completely forgot to take pictures! Thankfully I had my camera out and took a few picture's right when my sister and her family got to our house. Those are the only picture's I have of Thanksgiving! I promise to do better at Christmas! Geez, I can't believe I did that. Ask anyone I am a nut about taking lots of pictures!
Welcome Cori and Missy!
Finally the girl's are here! My cousin's Cori and Missy came for a visit. They both live in Texas. We haven't seen each other since my wedding! Yes, two years ago now. Missy arrived first on November 7th then Cori came on November 10th. It was so good to see them both. Wesley got to meet them for the first time. He really liked all of the special attention he got from them all week! We were able to make a few shopping trips and meet up with our cousin Joy! Here are a few picture's of their visit.
7 Month's old!

Wow, has the time really flown by! I can't believe my baby is already 7 month's old. This month has been really fun! Wesley can now sit up all by himself. He loves to pick up his toys and put them back down. He flips his toys over and checks out every little detail of the toy. He loves when anyone sings to him. He especially loves when his Grandma's sing to him! His favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus" His favorite part of the song is "The people on the bus go up and down up and down up and down, the people on the bus go up and down all thru the town!" When you sing it you must jump and down and he will laugh so hard it is too cute! Wesley can roll but he is not into rolling all around. If we put him in the crawling postion he instantly reaches his arm over his head and flips over to his back. Maybe next month he will be rolling all over the place? Each day gets better and better. I never dreamed being a mommy would be this wonderful!

Wesley's 1st Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We went and surprised both our parent's tonight. We went up to their house and rang the door bell and had Wesley in his Tigger costume! It was a so fun to see how excited our parent's got when they saw Wesley! Earlier today Wesley rolled over from his tummy to his back! Now it is only a matter of time before our baby starts crawling! It has been one heck of an exciting day today! Here are a few photos of Wesley with our parent's and us in his costume!
